On December 19, Energoatom's executives, headed by Petro Kotin, presented a project for a state-of-the-art Center that will combine several promising Energoatom development programs.
To be located near Kyiv, the office will employ about 750 specialists. The Center will include:
- production administration: a joint project office with Holtec for the construction of a plant for the production of small modular reactor (SMR) components and components for the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF);
- Company’s standby crisis center;
- protective facilities;
- data center.
“Today, we are at the site where the Decision Making Center will be. This office will help coordinate our projects, and we plan to launch it in two years. The manufacturing facility is planned to be built and commissioned with the support of Holtec in 2029,” said Petro Kotin.
As a reminder, on November 15, Energoatom's office hosted a working meeting between the Company’s CEO, Petro Kotin, and the top management of its strategic partner, Holtec.
Holtec CEO and Executive Chairman Dr. Kris Singh and Holtec International President Kelly Trice joined the meeting online, while Holtec International Vice President Riaz Awan attended it offline in Kyiv.
Despite the full-scale war with russia, Holtec is strengthening its partnership with NNEGC and helping Ukraine counter russian narratives in the global nuclear energy sector.
Dr. Kris Singh noted that the new projects would create jobs and help restore and recover Ukraine.
