On November 12, 2025, at the invitation of JSC “NNEGC ”Energoatom”, a press tour for journalists was held at one of Ukraine's nuclear power plants.
Complying with all disclosure requirements for critical infrastructure, media representatives inspected the protective structures shielding the nuclear facility from russian shelling.
The NPP management familiarized journalists with the general principles and features of constructing such projects. After inspecting the protective structures, journalists were able to ask questions to the plant's executives and learn more about emergency response mechanisms and scenarios, as well as the readiness of nuclear power professionals for emergencies, such as a complete loss of power to the power units or the inability of the substation to receive the electricity generated by the units.
Energoatom is fully responsible for all work related to the construction of protective structures at nuclear facilities. The relevant structures are regularly inspected by commissions and receive the level of protection specified by standards.
Reliable protection of critical nuclear power plant equipment and other infrastructure is key to ensuring that power units can operate in compliance with all nuclear and radiation safety requirements, supplying the power grid with the megawatts that Ukraine so desperately needs.
