On December 12, 2025, the stage of the Cadet and Junior World Cup in Women’s Sabre was held in Budapest. The trainee of the KhNPP Children’s and Youth Sports School, Maya Velychko, a current representative of the city of Kyiv, under the guidance of trainers, Vitalii Tsysaruk and Valerii Shturbabin, won the bronze award at the prestigious international competition. In the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian sabre fencer yielded precedence to her opponent from Japan.
The bronze award of the World Cup has become another significant achievement of the young athlete this season. Maya Velychko consistently demonstrates high results in the international arena and confidently manifests herself among the strongest cadets in sabre fencing.
