The Nuclear School career guidance and educational project has been launched for the second time at Khmelnytskyi NPP.
Its goal is to popularize the nuclear industry, establish partnerships between the enterprise and educational institutions of Netishyn and 30 km of the KhNPP control area, and maintain a positive image of the plant to form a high-quality potential employee pool for Khmelnytskyi NPP among students.
More than 30 high school students from lyceums and gymnasiums of the satellite city and 30 km of the KhNPP control area will have the opportunity to gain knowledge in the nuclear field and learn about the operation of the company. The project participants will also have excursions to the industrial site and to the main divisions of KhNPP, lectures and practical assignments from managers, leading specialists, instructors, business games, communication with representatives of specialized universities, young specialists, and internships as plant personnel.
Vasyl Slukhanskyi, Acting Deputy Director General for Human Resources, welcomed the participants and wished that the knowledge gained at the Nuclear School would be useful in the future.
Volodymyr Tsybulskyi, head of the Netishyn branch of the SS NGO “Ukrainian Nuclear Society”, also addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He presented to the audience a guide for grads-to-be “The Path to a Career in the Nuclear Industry” created by JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” jointly with the Ukrainian Nuclear Society.
As part of the project, Vasyl Skrypniuk (Scientific &Technical Center) delivered a lecture on “Power Engineer as a Profession”, spoke about different types of power units, and answered numerous questions from the Nuclear School participants.
