Admission Campaign 2024: positive results of cooperation between Energoatom and industry-specific universities

Energoatom, the largest employer in the nuclear energy sector, actively participated in the 2024 admission campaign, supporting it with media coverage and career guidance.

The information project, implemented by NNEGC jointly with industry-specific higher education institutions, aimed to attract young people's attention to the nuclear industry, show them the prospects of working in the nuclear sector, and encourage applicants to choose nuclear-related specialties.

The joint information and education campaign covered industry-specific higher education institutions with which Energoatom has partnerships:

  • The National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”,
  • Lviv Polytechnic National University,
  • Odesa Polytechnic National University,
  • Vinnytsia National Technical University,
  • National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (Rivne),
  • National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic University”,
  • V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

The efforts of the Company and universities yielded the expected results – the interest of young people in energy has increased! This year, most applicants chose nuclear specialties as their first priority, and the competition for state-funded places at some universities reached 4 applicants per place. In total, the leading technical universities of the country enrolled:

  • more than 1000 freshmen in the specialties of Nuclear Energy, Heat Power Engineering, Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics, Power Engineering, Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics;
  • almost 800 students for the first year of the master's program in the same specialties.

In particular, 110 freshmen were enrolled in the specialty 143 “Nuclear Energy”, and 105 were enrolled in the master's program.

“These results are vivid evidence of the growing popularity of the nuclear sector among young people – the future elite of the nuclear industry. We are proud that our young people are choosing a career in the nuclear sector!” stressed Energoatom CEO Petro Kotin.
