Joint projects of Energoatom and Holtec to increase Ukraine's production capacity and create new jobs
On November 15, Energoatom's office hosted a working meeting between the Company’s CEO, Petro Kotin, and the top management of its strategic partner, Holtec.
Holtec CEO and Executive Chairman, Dr. Kris Singh, and Holtec International President Kelly Trice joined the meeting online, while Holtec International Vice President Riaz Awan attended it offline in Kyiv.
First, Petro Kotin thanked the Holtec management for participating in the October international conference, emphasizing Mr. Awan's personal presence.
The Head of Energoatom also congratulated the American partners on the development of the Palisades NPP restart project and expressed Energoatom's readiness to join the work on the deployment of SMR-300 technology at the site.
Petro Kotin discussed with the partners the further steps in technology transfer for the production facilities of a large-scale project — the production of SMR-300 small modular reactor components and components for the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility.
In turn, Dr. Kris Singh highlighted the importance of cooperation with Energoatom. Despite the full-scale war with russia, Holtec is strengthening its partnership with NNEGC and helping Ukraine to counter russian narratives in the global nuclear energy sector.
Kris Singh noted that the new projects would create jobs and help restore and reconstruct Ukraine.
Implementing Energoatom's new projects in cooperation with international partners will allow Ukraine to become an influential player in the global nuclear energy market, continuing to destroy the monopoly of the russian federation.
