Energoatom continues cooperation with British companies in joint nuclear projects
This was said by the President of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» Petro Kotin during a meeting with the First Secretary for Energy Policy of the British Embassy in Ukraine, Peter Wickenden, on February 9, 2023.
«We closely cooperate with British companies in joint nuclear projects. In particular, Energoatom and Urenco recently agreed on long-term cooperation in supplying enriched uranium for the needs of Ukrainian nuclear power plants,» Petro Kotin noted.
The head of Energoatom also said that the Company is in constant dialogue with the British developer of small modular reactors Rolls-Royce. The partners continue to study the possibilities for using small modular reactors in Ukraine and agree on further steps.
In turn, Peter Wickenden assured that the British Embassy is ready to facilitate the implementation of joint nuclear projects between the two countries.
Lastly, the President of Energoatom thanked the government and the people of Great Britain in the person of the First Secretary for Energy Policy of the British Embassy for the constant help and support of Ukraine in the struggle for independence.
