Energoatom’s professionals shared their experience with Polish colleagues on implementation of small modular reactors (SMRs)
On September 16, 2023, at the invitation of the Polish company ORLEN Synthos Green Energy, specialists of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" attended a meeting regarding the introduction of small modular reactor (SMR) technology in Poland.
The event brought together Polish, Ukrainian and international experts in the field of SMR to exchange views on the technology, which has huge potential for the energy future.
Thus, the Polish side presented the current state of affairs and the implementation of strategy of BWRX-300 GE-Hitachi small modular reactors.
In turn, the Ukrainian delegation submitted a general overview of the domestic nuclear power industry, promising investment projects and Energoatom’s overall approaches when choosing new nuclear technologies, in particular small modular reactors.
During the discussion, the parties, among other things, agreed to continue further deliberations on identifying possible areas of bilateral cooperation in this field.
