The Supervisory Board of Energoatom was formed
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decision to approve the results of the selection of members of the Supervisory Board of the Joint-Stock Company “National Nuclear Energy Generating Company “Energoatom”.
This is stated in the order of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 566 dated June 21.
In particular, three independent members and two state representatives were selected to the Supervisory Board.
The Supervisory Board is composed of five members, three of them are independent experts, and two of them are state representatives.
The following persons became independent members of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom: Timothy John Stone, Michael Elliott Kirst, and Jarek Neverovych. Vitalii Petruk and Tymofiy Mylovanov were appointed to the positions of state representatives.
“The reform of the corporate management of Energoatom is strategically important for ensuring the energy security of the state. Especially now, when Ukraine continues to live under daily russian terror and the enemy continues to attack and destroy Ukraine's energy infrastructure, nuclear generation is key to ensuring a stable energy supply in our country.
The completion of the corporatization of Energoatom opens up additional opportunities for attracting significant investments in the industry and the development of national nuclear sector. The Supervisory Board is composed of truly world-class professionals, and this will significantly increase trust in the enterprise and the implementation of large strategic projects, in particular the project to complete the power units of the Khmelnytsky NPP,” German Galushchenko, Minister of Energy, said.
Timothy John Stone is the Head of the Nuclear Industry Association of Great Britain, as well as Nuclear Risk Insurers, a world leader in nuclear insurance. He was holding the position of independent director of Horizon Nuclear Power and Non-Executive Director of the European Investment Bank.
Michael Elliott Kirst is the founder and Managing Director of EuroAtlantic Partners, has deep global expertise in the field of energy and, in particular, the nuclear industry. He held management positions at Westinghouse Electric Company.
Jarek Neverovych is the former Minister of Energy of Lithuania and Chief Advisor to the President of Lithuania on environmental and infrastructure issues.
Vitalii Petruk was the Head of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management from 2015 to 2019.
Tymofiy Mylovanov is the former Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, Head of the Kyiv School of Economics.
