The Zaporizhzhia NPP is on the verge of another blackout
Today, on April 4, 2024, at 10:06 a.m., as a result of russian shelling, the 330kV off-side power supply line «Zaporizhzhia TPP — Ferosplavna», through which the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP received power from the Ukrainian power system for house loads, has been disconnected.
Currently, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe is connected to the Ukrainian grid only by means of the power supply line 750kV «Dniprovska», the operation of which has been recently restored with efforts of Ukrainian power industry specialists.
This situation threatens with another emergency situation at the temporarily occupied ZNPP, because in case of disconnection of mentioned - the last - line of connection with the national power grid, the plant will be on the verge of another blackout, which is a serious violation of the conditions for safe operation of the plant.
The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant must immediately be returned under full control of Ukraine, its legal operator - Energoatom, and Russia must withdraw its militaries and military equipment from the plant!
We will remind you that since the beginning of the Russian occupation, the Zaporizhzhia NPP has already experienced eight complete blackouts and one partial one - with the start of emergency diesel generators and safety systems. Their refusal threatens with an emergency situation.
