All Ukrainian NPPs operate smoothly
As of July 4, 2022, at 9 am, all operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine are generating electricity for the country’s needs smoothly.
Radiation, fire safety and environmental conditions at the NPP industrial sites and adjacent areas have not changed and are within the current norms.
The safety of nuclear facilities remains the top priority of NNEGC «Energoatom» under martial law due to the full-scale war with russia. Therefore, the essential equipment of the reactor compartments of power units, power plant premises and buildings, the perimeters of protected and adjacent areas, as well as critical NPP facilities outside their protected areas are under tightened supervision and control.
Zaporizhzhya NPP and the town of Enerhodar are still under occupation, but all power units of the plant are serviced by Ukrainian personnel and continue to operate for Ukraine.
However, while the occupation is ongoing, nuclear and radiation safety are still under threat.
Staff is being rotated but the occupationists not just keep coordinating all technical decisions of the personnel, but also significantly stepped up pressure, increased the number of inspections, outright reprisals and show «trials» against nuclear workers who do not cover up their pro-Ukrainian position.
All nuclear power professionals continue to work diligently and contribute to the future Victory!
