On September 22, 2022, an online meeting was held between the President of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» Petro Kotin and the President of the US conversion company ConverDyn Malcolm Critchley.

Malcolm Critchley presented the possibilities of a new conversion plant (a plant for the production of uranium hexafluoride from uranium concentrate, which is the second stage in the process of manufacturing nuclear fuel. – Ed.), owned by the ConverDyn company and which will start operating next year after modernization.

In turn, Petro Kotin offered his American colleagues to work out the possibility of developing further cooperation in the field of supply of nuclear materials for the production of nuclear fuel and other areas of potential cooperation.

For reference: ConverDyn is a general partnership between American multinational firms General Atomics and Honeywell that provides uranium hexafluoride conversion and related services to utilities operating nuclear power plants in North America, Europe, and Asia. The company is the sole marketing agent of UF6 produced at the Honeywell Uranium Hexafluoride Processing Facility.
