RNPP held a competition of scientific reports among young professionals

Five employees under 35 from different RNPP structural units participated in the scientific report competition. The contestants presented their scientific and technical potential in production and social & trade union areas.

The annual scientific report competition is held under the auspices of the Youth Organization with the assistance of the administration and the Primary Trade Union Organization of RNPP. The event is held to stimulate initiative, and creative self-improvement, unlock scientific and technical potential, and improve the general level of knowledge of young employees, as well as to find new ways to optimize the production process.

The competition committee consisted of Ihor Kurinnyi, Chief Engineer and First Deputy Director General of RNPP, Oleh Kylyukh, HR Deputy Director General, Serhii Hutsalo, Head of Information and Public Relations Department and Head of the separated subdivision of the NGO “Ukrainian Nuclear Society” in the Rivne region, Tetiana Vasylieva, Deputy Head of RNPP Primary Trade Union Organization, and Davyd Eivazov, Head of Youth Organization of RNPP Primary Trade Union Organization. The competition committee evaluated the knowledge of the material, the ability to reasonably present the essence of the scientific report, the thoroughness and completeness of answers to the jury members' questions, and the feasibility and originality of the participants' topic.

“Our company needs to have highly qualified staff, so when we see such energetic, enthusiastic young people, we can say with confidence that our power plant has a very strong potential. Today, all the scientific reports are interesting and important. I am sincerely glad that young nuclear power professionals participate in such events. We are looking forward to new ideas next year, which we will certainly pay attention to. I wish the winners to perform well in the final stage of the competition among young Energoatom employees,” said Oleh Kylyukh.

As a result, Ivan Chepurko, instructor of the RNPP Training Center, won the competition in the production area with the study “Application of the Interactive Inquiry System as a tool to improve the quality of the training process of nuclear power plant staff”. The second place was awarded to Nazar Vereshko, an engineer of the Thermal Instrumentation and Control Shop, for his paper “Implementation of the Electronic Application Software”.

This is the third time Ivan Chepurko has taken part in the competition of scientific reports among young employees of the enterprise and the third time he has won first place. This year, the specialist presented his work in the production area for the first time. It should be noted that the nuclear power professional has twice won the competition of scientific reports among young employees of Energoatom.

“Participation in the competition allows me to present my developments and ideas, to enlist the support of the management in promoting and implementing them in the life of the enterprise. The topic I covered today concerns the use of Interactive Inquiry Systems to improve the quality of the training process, obtain additional data, and, of course, make the time spent in class more active and interesting, and, accordingly, to achieve better and higher results in the training process. I believe that young professionals should not be afraid to participate in such events. Public speaking and the ability to communicate their thoughts will be useful to everyone, regardless of their field of work,” commented Ivan Chepurko.

Kateryna Semko, a psychologist of the Human Resources Development Department, became the winner in the social & trade union area. She presented a scientific report on “Resentment as a prerequisite for imperfect communication of NPP staff”. The second place went to Maria Kovalchuk, a correspondent of the Information and Public Relations Department, with her research project “Social Networks as a Tool for Manifesting the Tone of Voice of an Enterprise”. The third place was awarded to Dmytro Poroshyn, an electrical fitter at the Thermal Instrumentation and Control Shop, with the topic “Motivation and Development of Young Professionals at NPPs: Modern Approaches and Prospects.”

Kateryna Semko has been working at Rivne NPP for three years and is participating in the scientific report competition among young employees for the first time: “The martial law conditions pose many challenges and problems that society needs to deal with. This formulates the setting of new goals that we have to solve, especially as specialists in the field of human factor management. I decided to present a report on the topic of resentment because many people are currently in a state of chronic stress. I think we need to talk about it. It is necessary to assess the mental state of everyone, to consider it when interacting, and not to always focus only on your own experiences. After all, the team is the only mechanism that should work in a coordinated manner. Therefore, I see great relevance in the topic, which I will continue to study and refine.”

According to Davyd Eivazov, Head of Youth Organization of RNPP Primary Trade Union Organization, the winners will be awarded cash prizes and will represent Rivne NPP at the final stage of the scientific report competition among young Energoatom employees to be held in Kyiv in September this year: “I believe that each participant proved himself, showed his skills and experience. They presented their ideas, the development of which is expected at the enterprise in the future.”
