Another important step towards restoring respect for the UN Charter and international law has been made today
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the resolution initiated by Ukraine – “Safety and security of nuclear facilities of Ukraine, including the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant”:
“The document confirms the need for demilitarization and de-occupation of ZNPP against the background of russia's failure to implement relevant resolutions of the IAEA governing bodies. This vote is a continuation of the discussions and decisions made at the first Peace Summit, where point one of the Peace Formula, “Radiation and Nuclear Safety”, was one of the key issues.
I am grateful to all our partners for their assistance in restoring security in all areas that was destroyed by russian aggression. By working together, we can protect the fundamental norms of international law and common values.”
