In Netishyn, preparatory work for the placement of a modular settlement for the Zaporizhzhia NPP employees is underway
During a working visit to the Khmelnytsky NPP, the head of Energoatom Petro Kotin and President and Chief Executive Officer of Westinghouse Electric Company Patrick Fragman inspected the site, where four modular houses would be placed for the ZNPP specialists, who were going to participate in the construction of new AP1000 power units using Westinghouse technology and completion of Units 3 and 4.
The modular settlement will spread over 3.1 hectares and become a temporary home for 242 families.
“Most of these people are the Zaporizhzhia NPP personnel who were forced to leave the plant due to its occupation. We will move quickly, and the first builders of power units will arrive here in about a month,” Petro Kotin said.
The head of Energoatom added that that project would be implemented with the support of the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden.
Patrick Fragman emphasized that the construction of new power units envisaged not only the involvement of personnel, but also the creation of comfortable conditions for their daily routine.
“The entire project for the construction of new power units is like small pieces of a mosaic for implementation of various measures. This includes the site preparation, the equipment purchase and process operations, as well as the personnel placement and training. The combination of all the mentioned activities creates a complete picture. Energoatom is making a lot of efforts to implement this project, and we are very glad that we can support the Company in this direction,” the head of Westinghouse said.
