The government supported the draft law on further construction of power units 3 and 4 at the Khmelnytsky NPP
Today, on April 2, during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the draft law «On the location, design and construction of power units 3 and 4 of the Khmelnytsky NPP» has been approved. It establishes the legal basis for the placement, design and construction of power units at the Khmelnytsky NPP.
The draft law provides for the placement of reactor units of the VVER-1000 (pressurized water reactor) type. This draft law also determines the amount of social and economic compensation for the risk of the population living in the relevant territory, as well as specifies a legal requirement regarding the possibility of using new nuclear fuel units manufactured according to American technology.
This is another evidence of refusal to use the fuel manufactured by the aggressor country.
In the nearest future, the draft law will be registered in the parliament. We hope for the speedy adoption by the People's Deputies of Ukraine of such an important legislative act for the power grid of our country.
