One of Energoatom’s units is being removed out of service for scheduled overhaul
On January 3, 2023, in order to ensure nuclear and radiation safety under the terms of the license, one of the power units of SE "NNEGC" Energoatom" is being removed out of service for scheduled overhaul, which is conducted once every four years.
During the overhaul, complete unloading of the reactor core, control of the integrity of the reactor vessel with an automatic manipulator, preventive maintenance of equipment, removal of spent fuel and loading of fresh nuclear fuel are carried out.
Thus, in the near future, eight power units of nuclear power plants located in the territory controlled by the state will operate in the energy system of Ukraine.
All six power units of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP are shut down, their start-up is blocked by the invaders. Currently, the ZNPP continues to constantly consume electricity for its in-house needs from the energy system of Ukraine.
