During a working visit to Khmelnytskyi NPP, Acting President of SE NNEGC «Energoatom» Petro Kotin visited the unique Netishyn Children's and Youth Sports School, which for 35 years has trained dozens of future Olympians, and opened a new training ground.

Boxing, sambo, judo, volleyball, kickboxing, athletics, swimming, fencing and football – this is a non-exhaustive list of sections of Netishyn Children's and Youth Sports School. There are 19 highly qualified coaches, including international masters of sport, working with almost a thousand young athletes every day. A trainee of Netishyn Children's and Youth Sports School, athlete Victoria Tkachuk is among the athletes preparing to defend the honor of our country at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

To add football victories to the list of achievements of Netishyn athletes, the training ground near the sports complex was renovated by the efforts of nuclear workers. Funds for its reconstruction were allocated by the Energoatom’s trade union organization and Khmelnytskyi NPP. «It is fitting that we are opening a sports ground here in Netishyn today, the opening day of Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo,» said the head of the Company. «Energoatom has always supported and continues to support the development of sports and a healthy lifestyle, and will continue to do so, because a good nuclear worker must be a healthy, skillful and strong-willed person.»

At the sports ground, the base surface was completely replaced with artificial turf: quartz sand was brought in, drainage communications were laid, shielding barriers were installed as well as the boundaries of the playing field were marked. The size of the field is 65 by 35 meters, so several football teams can train there simultaneously.

«I hope that the young football player, who will train on the new field, imitating Oleh Blokhin, Ihor Belanov and Andriy Shevchenko, will become their followers – the owners of the Golden Ball,» said Mr. Kotin. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the trade union organization of Energoatom and the management of Khmelnytskyi NPP, which made every effort to build this modern training field, and promised the Company would move beyond. Therefore, the sports infrastructure in Netishyn and other satellite cities of domestic nuclear power plants will continue to develop.

The newly opened football field immediately hosted a mini-tournament between the teams of veterans of the famous football club Dynamo-Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi NPP.
