NNEGC Energoatom management and representatives of the USAID International Technical Assistance Project Mission in Ukraine and the Washington office held a video conference with the live transmission in the test site at ZNPP. The parties checked the capability of Zaporizhzhya NPP power units operation in rated primary frequency control mode while parallel operating with the Unified power system of Ukraine.

«The joint efforts of Energoatom and NPC Ukrenergo with the support of USAID allow confirming not only the technical readiness of Ukrainian NPP units to operate in the conditions of the Unified power system of Ukraine, but also compliance with the ENTSO-E European continental network requirements», the Acting First Vice-President – Technical Director of Energoatom Yurii Sheiko noted during the online meeting.

As part of the project, back in 2019 nuclear power workers started testing necessary for the implementation of the Catalog of measures of the Agreement on the conditions of future integration of the Unified power system of Ukraine into the ENTSO-E European continental network. With the support of USAID and the United States Energy Association (USEA) under the Energy Security Project international consultants with experience in synchronizing other countries' power systems with ENTSO-E were involved.

Energoatom highly appreciates cooperation with the U.S. side and seeks to its development.
