Petro Kotin discussed cooperation in the nuclear industry with British Ambassador Martin Harris
On November 28, Head of JSC NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin met with Ambassador of the United Kingdom Martin Harris. The parties discussed technical and humanitarian support for the Ukrainian company, as well as areas of cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. In particular:
- Energoatom’s receipt of funds through the export credit agency UK Export Finance (UKEF) to finance the supply of nuclear materials – enriched and natural uranium hexafluoride;
- the danger posed by russian shelling of substations critical to the NPPs, as well as the work of the IAEA mission at those sites;
- the constant deterioration of the situation at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, due to the incompetent actions of the personnel present there and enemy troops.
Petro Kotin also expressed gratitude to the partners for their assistance in protecting domestic NPPs, because it is nuclear generation that was entrusted with the main task of providing citizens and industry with electricity.
Head of Energoatom was grateful to the British side for their constant support.
Martin Harris emphasized that the United Kingdom would continue to support Ukraine and Energoatom in the fight against russian military aggression.
